Miss Hope International 2017 is not just a pretty face

Perseverance is sure the mother of success, Natalie Memory is a living proof of this saying. The 26 year old KwaDukuza Municipality resident is a true definition of the term ‘beauty and brain’. Memory is the current Miss KwaZulu-Natal 2016 and she was recently crowned as Miss Hope International 2017.

“Natalie Memory is a very humble girl originally from Zimbabwe, I moved to South Africa about 8 years ago to look for a better life. I come from a very poor background but I have always had a vision and a plan to make my life better each and every day. I remember when I started saving up money to come to this country by doing people’s hair, when I got here life was not as easy as I thought it will be, to make a living I got a job in Ballito where I worked as a maid as time went on I changed jobs now and then. It was when I got a job in Pick n Pay where I was exposed to many things and I took a decision to turn my life around, I was interested in modelling and I never looked back” Memory explains.

She likes to describe herself as not one of the prettiest girls in the world but she says her brains and heart got her where she is today. Her love of giving a helping hand motivated her to start her own modelling agency called Alosia Models where she grooms young girls who want to make it in the modelling industry, giving pointers and directions from professional experts. She says this industry is though and if one doesn’t have proper guidance and mentorship will not survive but will suffer from people who will take advantage of young girls.

Memory is also known for her community work she has been doing around KwaDukuza and surroundings, she is also a brand ambassador for various products and agencies including Raw juice, Victor Fashion Academy, Posh Salon and many more.

The jack of all trades hopes 2017 will be the best Natalie Memory to grow as a brand and Alosia Models as a business. “In 2017 I want to venture in many things, I want to get out of my comfort zone, go an extra mile to help the people in need.  I have plans to tackle the entertainment industry and grow as a brand. I also trust in God to take me wherever he plan to take me this years.
